May was finishing high school when she started going to demonstrations and spray-painting phrases clamoring for freedom on the walls around her hometown of Jableh, Syria. As her passion for the revolution grew, she became more involved as a media activist, sharing the injustices happening in her city on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube—a role that has landed her on the Assad regime’s wanted list.
